Is Money the Root of All Evil?

Money is the root of all evil.

You sometimes hear people say negative things about money and for the most part these are the people who have none.

Some people will tell you that money can't buy you love. While this is true, it is a ridiculous statement. Love is an emotion, not a product available at the local grocery store. Do people who say this believe that you think you can actually buy love? Are they just expressing negative feelings for money because of their lack of it?

No matter what people say about money, the fact remains that is a vital part of life today. Money remains the only standardized trade for goods, services, information, personal debts and travel.

Without money you can't properly educate yourself. You can learn the things you are capable of learning or expand your awareness.

Without money you can't afford to eat the food that properly nourishes your body and gives you energy and vitality.

Without money you can't spare the time to properly exercise or have the amount of leisure to relax and put your mind at ease.

Without money you can't spend any considerable amount of time doing the things you love, and this is vital to your sanity.

Without money you can't travel and experience or understand a variety of cultures and societies.

Are all these things evil?

No they are not. In fact it would be hard to imagine having the lack of happiness in the presence of the things listed above.

The fact also remains that the good you can do on this planet is strictly limited to your presence, without substantial financial backing. I am not telling you that you shouldn't personally help people. I am saying that while you are personally help people, the money you have could be traveling the world building schools and hospitals, food banks and recycling plants. Your money could be researching the cure for diseases and making advancements in solar power and bio fuel.

Are these things evil?

I think people would be amazed how much free time they had if they weren't worried about money. Free time they could spend doing a multitude of things that would leave the planet in a better state than it was before they arrived.

Are any of these things mildly wrong? So who could call them evil?

Is Money Really the Root of All Evil?

Is money evil? Many people think that money is not spiritual and materialist - why is this? What are your beliefs? Are they even your beliefs at all?

This is a subject that I have been battling with for a long time now. Coming from a poor background and being surrounded by poverty for a large percentage of my life, I have certainly picked up a great deal of negativity around money. However, I keep thinking more and more these days... why do people belief that having no money is spiritual? Why are we holding ourselves back from fulfillment and freedom by believing that lack is good for us?

Ask yourself this... Do you agree that having no food and shelter is spiritual? Is it spiritual to have sections of society with no homes and no warmth? Did you know that the biggest cause of marriage breakups and ill health is a consequence of financial worries and stress? How are we supposed to help those less fortunate without the flow of money?

Money gives us the ability to be free... to live a life of ultimate freedom! I argue it is 'not' spiritual to live a life of worry, stress, depression and bad health because you cant pay your bills, pay for clothing, buy healthy nutritious food and keep up health insurance payments. How is this spiritual?

It makes me wonder.... Are we doing each other a huge dis-service by spreading the word that people with money are greedy? That money is the root of all evil? That money is not important! Who told you this anyway and why do you believe their view so much?

I'm not saying money is everything but what money represents is pretty damn important!

With money comes freedom! With money comes choice! With money comes health! With money comes experiences! With money comes opportunity!

Now let's reverse the analogy that money is not spiritual for a moment!

Imagine this... You give 10% of your overall income per month to charities of your choice. You no longer worry about paying your bills and keeping a roof over your head. You are able to eat food of your choice... fresh meat, fresh fruit and fresh vegetables. You no longer need to live in a place full of pollution... you can live in the beautiful countryside or by the sea. You no longer worry about how you can pay your health insurance or those wonderful trips worldwide that enable you to experience different cultures and grow from the inside out. You can get massages on a regular basis and go out for dinner and go on dates. You can buy the books you love and attend courses and classes that inspire you.

Tell me now that money is not spiritual? Tell me now that money is the root of all evil? Why is it that only people with no money tend to belief these negative points about money anyway?

We are supposed to live a life of happiness, abundance, success & fulfillment. A life packed with incredible experiences and creations. And what is even more ironic is that spiritual teachers tell you this. Abraham Hicks, Donald Walsh (Conversations with God), Joe Vitale, John Assaraf... I could go on and on and on. All spread the beauty and importance of abundance, prosperity and wealth... in all areas of your being!

Do yourself a favour and begin to feel worthy of all you desire! Open yourself up to receive everything you want... freedom, wealth and prosperity. You can give, give, give... all day long and every day of the week, but if you are not open to also receive... you will create resistance and there will be a lack of flow in your life and the world.

Feed your soul with rich experiences, with incredible organic food, with an environment that supports your health and with wondrous experiences.

As always, I would love to hear your comments on this... and feel free to drop me a line on Facebook or Twitter.

Have an abundant week and start reaching for those things that make you feel fabulous... be guilt free and live your dream life! You totally deserve it!

Warm wishes

Money is the Root of All Evil

Have you heard this phrase? Do you believe it?

Is money the root of all evil or is  it your belief of money that is the root of your evil?

Let me explain....

I was walking with my mother today in downtown Pacific Grove, CA.  We were waiting for the animal rescue to open so that I could give up my beloved cats; but, that's another story.

While we were walking we were looking at the small shops on Lighthouse Avenue and one of them was a 'higher end' store and my mother commented as she passed, "too rich for my blood."

To a "T" it was the exact phrase her father, bless him as he's passed away, used to say as he would walk past a store that had things he wanted but never allowed himself to afford because of his limiting beliefs and his pure disdain of rich people.  He would consistently make the comment about rich people are A** H**es and then would wander into McDonald's for a cup of coffee and a sit down chat with others who shared his beliefs.  Like minded individuals bringing into their lives others who shared their scarcity values. My grandfather's beliefs were centered around a jealousy of an enviable position he wanted so to be in yet had no idea how to create it for himself.

Back to my mother and her comment... Her words were so succinct, so in form, so much a part of his (her father's) background and thinking that I surely thought he had embodied her for that moment as she spoke those words.  It was kind of freaky to tell you the truth.

My mother is a fisherman, a canvas maker, a sail maker, a woodworker, and a very creative and ingenious woman when it comes to creating something out of nothing.  But, like her father, she has limiting beliefs about money.  Money has always been a big problem because there has never been enough and as is normal for the baby boomers, they don't spend what they don't have.  Growing up with parents raised in the Great Depression, theirs is a consistent reminder of what they don't have:  Money.

Now that I have allowed myself to be reconditioned by the words of Jeffery Combs, Ferny Ceballos, Aaron "Parky" Parkinson, Jay Kubassek, Danielle Wilson, John Jackson, Brian Fanale, Norbert Orlecwicz and Jonathan Budd, to name a few, I listen to people with a clearer ear.  I hear the derision in their voice, the intonation as they say, "well, it's ok to want money, but you'll never be happy" as if to say that money will make you unhappy.  Because to them money makes them unhappy.  They never have enough, always want more and are consistently living in the poverty mindset that consumes 97+% of our population.

You don't hear any of the above-mentioned say they're unhappy... you hear them say that they'll wake up sometimes not feeling like the million bucks they've made, but that doesn't mean they're unhappy.  It means they're HUMAN.

Money is not the evil; it's your belief in money that is your evil.   Honestly, your poverty mindset serves no one, not even yourself.  It is a mindset of victim and it's weak.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be wealthy, there's nothing wrong with creating your own destiny.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to wait for a bailout, for someone else (e.g., the government) to pick up the slack in your life only to be disillusioned by what they told you would happen and what actually happened to your MONEY...

I am not afraid to put myself on a risky, slippery slope to create my destiny.  My goal is to make money and a lot of it.  My goal is also to help others make money, and a lot of it.  My goal is to have 240 people on my team by March 31st, 2011 creating $10k a month in residual income.  That's my goal.  There's nothing wrong with making money.  There's nothing wrong with wanting a better life than what you have right now.

This doesn't negate your current lifestyle. Just because you want something better in your life doesn't mean you're not grateful for your current state of affairs; it means you want to create better for yourself. There's nothing wrong with wanting better, wanting a better life, a better bank account, a better car or a better place to live for yourself and your family (four-legged or otherwise).

If you think you don't deserve to make money you never will make it. Just like my grandfather, bless him, he created his misery within his lack of courage to take the next step to create the destiny he so wanted in his life because he truly believed that money was the root of all evil.

Money - Is It Really The Root Of All Evil?

Throughout history, wise men and women have commented on money. Publius Syrus stated, "Money alone sets the world in motion." Benjamin Franklin later said, "Remember that time is money." But, the most famous of all is perhaps, "Money is the root of all evil." Unfortunately this is a misquote from The Bible found in the book of Timothy chapter 6:10 which reads, "The love of money is the root of all evil." Just adding those two words makes a huge difference.

I can't help but think of all the good that has been done with money. For example, Bill and Melinda Gates gave over 3 billion to their foundation. Think of all the charities around the world. People such as the Rockerfellers, and Ted Turner seem to be obsessed with giving money away. In 2005, Slate.com's list of 60 most generous donors totaled $4.3 billion-with the smallest donations at $20 million and the largest at over $400 million.

Who benefits from all this philanthropy? All kinds of people and places and programs benefit from donations. McDonalds uses the money to build shelters with a place to sleep and food. The Gates foundation is organized around fighting killer diseases around the world. Other charities give to environmental and animal welfare organizations.

Of course, the average person is not greedy when it comes to giving either. The average American gives over $400 a year to various charities, and that doesn't count money given to religious organizations or the value of personal property they donate.

Of course, there are plenty of wealthy people out there who don't care. They wouldn't give anyone a dime. They love money just for the sake of being rich, and refuse to share their wealth with others. A wealthy boss of mine once said, "The only thing having money does is free you from worrying about money."

Back to our quotes, they are all great. Having money is indeed enjoyable. Not having it is indeed stressful and unpleasant, especially when the bills just keep coming. And remember, money does make the world go 'round. And, time is money.

You work an 8 to 10 hour day in exchange for money. The time doesn't belong to you, it belongs to your boss. The company decides how much money your time is worth. Wouldn't you like to be in control of your own money and time? Think of all the money you could save by starting your own home-based business. Your income is based on the amount of work you put in. You would save on the commute. You wouldn't have to feel under paid or frustrated. You could double, triple, or quadruple your income.

Benjamin Franklin understood that a person should be able to decide what his or her own time is worth. There is great wisdom in considering a home-based business which puts you are in control.

The Root of All Evil - Is it the Money?

People always say that the love of money is the root of all evil. But is it really? Money in itself is not evil; in fact it is a necessity for survival and progress. But the love of it perhaps leads to greed, which is what is evil.

Money has led a lot of people to evil but not necessarily everyone who has much of it is evil. Only greedy people are evil, but there are a lot of wealthy people who aren't even greedy. There are some who have more than just enough but refuse to share because of their greed to have more.

Giving wholeheartedly begets more blessings and some of the wealthiest people are among the kindest and most charitable beings in this world. But there are also those who are never satisfied even with too much money, and continue to want more. Money gives them control and that's why they're constantly greedy for more.

Money had been invented as a tool for exchange and it has brought a lot of order into the real valuation of trade which was once a frequent matter to disagree upon. Without a valuation tool, there was a tendency to undervalue or overprice the real worth of merchandise if everything was based on physical exchange of products alone.

Like food, water, clothing and shelter, money is a basic necessity. Too much of it can destroy a person if not handled correctly, just as food binging can bring on destructive health conditions. A lack of it also causes misery and desperation, just as a lack of the basic necessities does.

Greed for money is what makes it destructive. Everything about this physical life is actually what is in your heart, and not in what you possess. It's never a sin to have much - ambition and the desire for good things is not evil. It is never wrong to aspire for a better life. That comes with basic human instinct. But to do so at another person's expense through abuse or wrongful acquisition is what brings evil to this world. In short, if you don't fairly earn it, you don't deserve to own it.

Must Money Always Be the Root of All Evil?

Questions often come to mind as to why we have such inequality in our economic system. Insights about this can be found when we analyze how things changed after the end of the barter system. I know we could not go back to bartering at this point in our economy. We are way beyond that possibility. But if you look at the creation of money and capital, you can see why unregulated laissez faire capitalism became so inequitable. The reason is found in the nature of money itself. Dollars can be held in infinite amounts whereas doing so with actual goods would be impossible. With uncontrolled capitalism, money can be accumulated and possessed in sums that can never be spent on consumable goods by the holder, not even with the most conspicuous of spending. Thus, the capitalist can retain huge sums of money without spending it. The money merely accumulates and leads to the acquisition of more and more money in the capitalist's account.

On the other hand, look at how the barter system worked. If John had ten cows for milk, he had to feed ten cows. If he didn't use all of the milk from the cows, it would spoil and become worthless. So if he could not consume all of the milk and didn't need all of the cows, it would make sense to trade them for something else that he could use. For example, it would make sense to trade them for hay to feed the cows that he needed to keep for the milk that he could consume. The fact that the cows were a drain on him made them less valuable and encouraged him to reduce his herd. Similarly, if someone else had 1000 bales of hay but no cows, he'd have to store the hay somewhere. He'd have to protect it from rain so he'd need a building. If he didn't use it up, it would eventually rot. So he'd have an incentive to trade the hay for something that he did need, like cows for milk. So by trading cows for hay and hay for cows, both parties would have what each could actually use and consume. Not so with money. Money changed all that.

With money, an individual would not have to worry about using his resources. Money doesn't mold, get old or die. It doesn't care how it was acquired, who has it or how it is used. It's completely fungible so it can be held and used later for anything. So holding onto and continuing to acquire money in amounts far beyond what can be reasonably spent in a lifetime has no down side. At least, not for the capitalist who was able to acquire money. His greed and his appetite for money can become insatiable. He can accumulate billions of dollars that he can never consume and suffer no downside for doing so. Instead, he tends to gain more money from the accumulation of interest paid on his original capital.

Using a capitalistic system and encouraging a race to acquire money would not be problematic if everyone was placed in the same position at the starting gate. Unfortunately, that's not the case. To make things worse, this lack of equal opportunity is a blatant fact that most middle class conservatives fail to understand. Those individuals like the idea of laissez faire capitalism because they don't appreciate how disadvantaged they are in comparison to the wealthy. They don't seem to recognize the many variables in our society that make starting out much more advantageous for those who already have capital. They are played against the poor because members of the middle class like to think that they can easily become capitalists themselves by hard work and that poorer people are there only by choice. Of course, to no surprise, the elite rich perpetuate that myth at every turn of the capitalistic game.

It is indisputable that some individuals, the most fortunate, are born into wealthy homes. They start with access to excellent health care, better quality of food, expensive clothing, superior grade and high schools and access to the best universities. Once they graduate, their parents can subsidize any income that they generate and can enable them to complete graduate school, hold out for the best jobs and start a business with plenty of start up capital. When their parents die, they stand to inherit large sums of capital, thus they are in a much better position to take entrepreneurial risks throughout their income-generating years. Those born into middle class homes have some benefits but not nearly those of the rich. They may have parents who work hard to enable them to get adequate health care, food, clothing and education. However, they don't have the same access to start up capital. They don't have the same opportunities to go to the best universities. And they cannot afford to take the kind of entrepreneurial risks that the offspring of the wealthy can take. Of course, at the bottom of the opportunity scale, the children of the poor struggle along.

The middle class are encouraged, by the conservative propaganda machines, to conclude that these impoverished families often have too many children and the adults don't make good choices in their lives. Accordingly, since the parents made their bed, they should lie in it. That's true in many cases. But we are now talking about the children having an equal chance at the starting gate, not the adults. The children did not make the bad choices. They start way behind the rich and the middle class at the starting gate through no fault of their own. They may suffer from malnutrition, which will impact upon their ultimate health and perhaps their intelligence. Facing more health challenges, they will be in the worst position to deal with them since they traditionally have had poor, if any, health care. Since school quality is often related to the tax base for housing, and since they will be living in less expensive housing, their schools are often inferior to both the rich and the middle class. On the up side, they may qualify for some benefits that the middle class cannot get. Which is, of course, how the wealthy classes are again able to play the middle against the poorer classes again.

When advocates of pure uncontrolled capitalism talk about the invisible hand of the market, perhaps they need to weigh in the factors that the market incorporates. The inequality of opportunity under our present capitalistic system is blatant. The invisible hand may be invisible but it certainly nudges the rich along in the race and gives them the opportunity to perpetuate what we have: A system of entrenchment of wealth. We entrench accumulation of wealth, which can never be consumed in ones lifetime. That wealth is then passed on to make a new generation of the economically favored.

So that age old question persists: Is money the root of all evil? I would say that now it is, but it does not have to be. And we need not return to the barter system to do it. Merely formulating a modified capitalistic system that allows everyone equal access to the same place at the front of the line at birth, the starting gate of capitalistic life, could take the evilness out of money. It wouldn't be that difficult. It just takes a sense of fairness and altruism which, unfortunately, is in short supply with most capitalists these days.

Money Obsession - The Root of All Evil

Is money really the root of all evil? We all here the saying but, I don't think we realize how true it really is. It may not be the money itself, but the obsession over money that makes it the root of all evil. Committing crimes, robbing banks, killing people for an inheritance, gambling, greed, steeling etc. the list goes on. Money obsession is an addiction that has the power to destroy a person's life and have a strong effect on the people around them.

There is nothing wrong with wanting more money or wanting to be rich. Who would not want to be rich, live stress free and have money rolling out of your teeth. That is what most of us are working for. All of our lives revolve around or have something to do with money but, it is a whole different story when you are obsessed over it. Money obsession can take over your soul and turn a good person into bad. It has the power to control you and what you do. That is why it can be evil.

If you find yourself constantly thinking about money or how you can become rich. Try to slow down and value the people around you or the things you already have. If you are able to control your lust for money and how you handle it. You will find that there are more important things in life than money.

Instead of thinking about the lottery, gambling or easy ways you can get rich fast. Try to use that time to think of a plan and set goals on how you can start making more money. Trying to find the easy way out never works and always comes with consequences. It is never to late to do what you want. The first step to getting rich on your own is to get rid of your obsession over money. Money can be the root of all evil but, it is up to you to change that and make it the root to a better life.

How bad you want money comes with how bad you want certain things. These things are just objects that are controlling your mind. Being happy with yourself and valuing the things you already have will bring you peace. Try to make the best of the money you already have. Saving your money and being responsible with it are keys to a better more balanced life

Is Money and Wealth the Root of All Evil?

One of the most frequently misquoted verses is 1 Timothy 6:10. Christians who operate their own home based business opportunities need to understand that money is not the root of all evil. Rather, it's the love of money that is the root of all evil. The reason is simply because the love of money has caused many to stray from the truth in their greediness. The end result is they pierce themselves through with many sorrows when their home businesses fail.

So let's set the record straight about the difference between earning huge profits in a Christian home based business with the right attitude verses earning profits with the wrong attitude. After all, it's challenging enough to be a Christian in business without feeling God is somehow against us for being successful.

Not long ago there was a Newsweek article that reported: "For one thing, Scripture is full of exhortations against accumulating wealth. The New Testament, especially, repeatedly reminds followers of Christ that earthly wealth means nothing in heaven. 'It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God,' says Jesus."

Is this true? Are the Scriptures full of exhortations against accumulating wealth? Did Jesus repeatedly remind his followers that earthly wealth means nothing in heaven? The answers are yes and no. It's true that financial wealth we accumulate on earth in our home based businesses will not accompany us to heaven. It will all stay behind. It's also true that Jesus warned his disciples about misplaced priorities - such as letting the love of money come before our love for the Lord.

However, it's completely false to say the Scriptures are full of exhortations against accumulative wealth. In fact, there are numerous examples of financially successful people all throughout the Bible: Abraham, Isaac, Solomon, Job, Joseph of Arimathaea, and Zacchaeus just to mention a few. Plus there are all these passages: The Lord sends poverty and wealth (1 Samuel 2:7); With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity (Proverbs 8:18); Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life (Proverbs 22:4); God gives a man wealth, possessions and honor, so that he lacks nothing his heart desires (Ecclesiastes 6:2).

As long as Christians keep our focus on the God who blesses with material wealth and prosperity, our home based businesses will be blessed. Those who lack material wealth are unable to do the things for the Lord that those of us who are blessed with wealth are able to do. We are able to take from the profits of our home business enterprises and contribute to ministries, to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, to help the poor and those who suddenly find themselves in need, and to mentor other faithful Christians to be successful in their home based businesses as well.

The apostle Paul told Timothy, Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19)

Those of us who have been so richly blessed with profitable home based business enterprises know we can never put our trust in uncertain riches. We put our trust in the living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Plus, we take from the wealth which God has blessed us and we share it in doing good works for others. God blesses the Christian business entrepreneur so that we can in turn be a blessing to others.

So, is money the root of all evil? Absolutely not. The Lord blesses those of us who keep our priorities straight and who have the correct attitude toward wealth. Why? Because we don't see the wealth we generate from our home based business enterprises as a means of simply accumulating great possessions for ourselves. We see money as something we can put to work in ways that will be a blessing to the Lord in return.

Money is not the root of all evil. The root of all evil is the love of money. The Christian business entrepreneur operating a home based business must always keep this subtle difference in mind. It's the difference between being a dark well of greed verses being a fresh spring of blessings to others that brings ultimate glory to God.

Christian Finance: Is Money the Root of All Evil?

I've heard it preached many times that money is the root of all evil. Many Christians believe that it is Christ-like to be poor, and that it is evil to be rich. Obviously, if you believe money is evil, you will always be poor. And, if you are always poor, then it will be difficult for you to properly provide for your family.

The problem with the "poor is Godly" philosophy is that if you study the lives of the biblical patriarchs (and matriarchs), you will find many of them were rich. Yet, I don't think any Christian reading this article would say that Abraham, the father of faith, was evil.

So, let's take a closer look at the verse that is at the heart of such controversy.

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

~1 Timothy 6:10

Right away, we see that it isn't money that is the root of evil, but the love of money. You see, money doesn't have any more morals than a brick. It is completely amoral. It isn't good. It isn't bad.

You can use the brick to break a window (evil) or to build a building (good). Money is the same way.

Money will take on the characteristics of whoever has it. If you are a godly person, then you will use money for good. If you live in darkness, then you will use money for evil.

The fact is that not much can be accomplished in our society without money. True, you can barter for some things, but few people have the ability to life self-sufficiently. Most of us need money to pay rent or mortgage, to buy food, to pay for utilities, etc.

God also needs us to use our money to further the work of his kingdom. Yes, that takes money too. It takes money to print bibles and pamphlets. It takes money to fly missionaries to other countries. It takes money to pay for television and radio broadcasts. It takes money to elect government officials who have strong moral values.

God told Abram that he wanted to bless him. But why? Was it just so that Abram would be rich and have everything that he wanted? No. God wanted to bless Abram so that he could be a blessing. He was to pass on his blessings to others and bless them. God wants the same for you today.

It is important to realize that money is not evil, and that God wants to bless you financially. It is important to God that you are blessed so that you can bless others and further his work here on earth.

Believe me, I've been where you are. I've been broke, with creditors calling, writing, and sending court summons. I've had my bank account garnished and wondered how I was going to feed my family. But, I can tell you that you can get out if you remain focused on the end goal instead of wallowing around in a pity pool feeling sorry for yourself.

Why Money is Not the Root of All Evil

One of my favourite speeches is one given by the fictional character Francisco d'Anconia in Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. The speech is given at a party where Francisco is surrounded by enemies. Another guest, Bertram Scudder suggests that money is the root of all evil.

It is a common accusation levelled at wealth and one that finds its own roots in the bible. Condemners of money often site the passage where Jesus considered that a camel had more chance of passing through the eye of a needle than a rich man of gaining paradise. (Matthew 19. 23-24). While Bible scholars debate about just what Jesus meant by a needle the rest of us are left with a fairly clear impression that it is difficult for the rich to get to Heaven.

While Francisco would not dispute Jesus' judgement that getting to Heaven is difficult for rich men, he would argue against the accepted wisdom that with this statement Jesus was condemning wealth, for as Francisco rightly points out, money is really just paper. Money is paper that we humans have put an agreed value upon. We use it to trade goods and services. Rather than saying my typing is worth half a sheep, we give both my typing and your sheep agreed values. This means that you don't have to carry your sheep with you everywhere you go and I can buy bread instead of sheep when you pay for my typing. Money simplifies transactions. Money in and of itself is neither good nor evil, just as a hammer is neither good nor evil. Money is just a tool.

Francisco's argument is that it is not being rich that damns you but getting rich through force or thievery. The corruption of the means is the corruption of the end. If you obtain your riches through fraud, through trickery, through lowering your standards then your money will not bring you joy. It will only remind you of your treachery.

Francisco warns instead that money requires of those who wish to keep it, the highest moral standard. You must be courageous and proud. If you are ashamed of your money, there will always be looters prepared to relieve you of your guilt. If however you realise that money is made through people's thoughts and actions and that it is the creation of the best power within you and it enables you to buy the best that others have made, then you will love money and you will deserve it and you will keep it.

Warm wishes
